Der Volkswagen New Beetle setzt die Erfolgsgeschichte seines Vorgängers, dem VW Käfer, fort. Im Jahr 1998 geht der VW New Beetle in Serie und präsentiert 2003 sogar eine Cabrio-Version des schnittigen Kleinwagens. Der VW New Beetle ist mit 1.4 bis 2.0 Liter-Benzinmotoren ausgestattet, das Cabrio gibt es auch mit einem 1.8-5V-Turbo. Beide Varianten stehen auch mit einem 1.9 Liter TDI-Diesel mit 105 PS zur Verfügung. Die freie Wahl hat der Käufer bei der Schaltung: 5-Gang-Schaltung oder Automatik können optional in das Wunschmodell eingebaut werden. Bereits im Jahr 2005 erlebt der VW New Beetle ein kleines aber feines Facelift. Die vorderen Stoßfänger erscheinen durch Luftauslassgitter sportlicher und die Kunststoff-Kotflügel erhalten eine schärfere Kontur. Noch prägnanter präsentieren sich die Klarglas-Scheinwerfer durch die ovalere Form, die vorderen Blinker sind etwas schmaler. Nicht nur Liebhaber von Sportwagen oder Kleinwagen sollten bei www.auto.de vorbeischauen, denn hier ist für jeden Geschmack das richtige Fahrzeug dabei.

Sieht aus wie ne Mischung aus Sirion und Aygo, was nicht gegen das Auto spricht. Auch die Testberichte zollen unisono Anerkennung. Es hatten hoffentlich nicht alle Tester nur die VW-Brille auf. Bleibt abzuwarten, wie sich der L"up"o bei TÜV, Dauertest und TÜV schlägt. Da rangiert ja VW in Sachen Kleinwagen doch eher hinten... more
