Der ebenfalls als „Neunelfer“ oder „Elfer“ bezeichnete Porsche 911 ist der bekannteste Sportwagen von Porsche und gilt als Inbegriff der Marke. Als Nachfolger des Porsche 356 wird der Rennwagen erstmals auf der IAA in Frankfurt am Main im Jahr 1963 präsentiert. Noch 1976 wird das Urmodell von einem 130 PS starken, luftgekühlten Sechszylinder-Boxermotor angetrieben, der sich im Heck des Wagens befindet. Zwischen 1974 und 1989 schöpft der bis heute heiß begehrte Oldtimer seine Kraft aus Aggregaten mit einem Hubraum zwischen 2.7 und 3.2 Litern. Zusätzlich erlebt der als Coupé, Cabrio und Targa erhältliche Porsche 911 zu dieser Zeit eine Vielzahl optischer und technischer Modifikationen. Im Jahr 1975 feiert der 300 PS starke Porsche Turbo sein Debüt. Die rasante Entwicklung in diesem Bereich betont der aktuelle Porsche 911, der nicht nur mit 480 PS erheblich stärker ist, sondern dank Allradantrieb, ESP und Keramik-Bremsscheiben auch leichter und sicherer zu bedienen ist.
